We will visit two typical ecosystems of this area. Growing areas in the countryside, where we will see steppe species, and wetlands, home of a lot of waterfowls.
This route runs through the protected area Campiña Sevillana, belonging to the SPA network (Special Protection Area for birds), and is included in the Natura Network 2000.
Of great interest because of its large population of birds, both in the plains and wetlands.
The huge prairies acquire great beauty in their growing seasons, when they are adorned by the bright colors of these, bathed in the intense rays of light from the Andalusian lands.
Birdwatching: Great Bustard, stone-curlew, little bustard, white-headed duck, greater flamingo, mallard, gadwall, eurasian wigeon, northern shoveler, pied avocet, black-winged stilt, black-necked grebe, common shelduck, greylag goose and several birds of prey like black-shouldered kite, common buzzard, Aguilucho Cenizo, Montagu’s harrier, black and red kite, lesser and common kestrel.
